Default Kane & Lynch

Quote:
Jamie Foxx is in talks to co-star with Bruce Willis in the upcoming adaptation of the videogame Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive, the story “follows two Kane (Willis), a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch (Foxx), is sprung by Kane’s former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team’s watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter.”

The game was mediocre but always felt like it was geared more towards becoming a movie than actually being a worthwhile videogame. At least Willis and Foxx should be a good pair, and I especially like the casting of Foxx not only because of his acting talent, but because Lynch is a white guy in the game. This means my campaign for Tracy Morgan to play Mario may have a chance after all.

Foxx will next appear alongside Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. in Todd Phillips’ road trip comedy Due Date. Willis is leading a cast of everyone in Hollywood in the action flick Red, which is due out in November.

This was one of the worst looking games and worst feeling controls I have yet to play on Ps3 or 360. Maybe the only worse game was Blacksite. This is also the directors first movie.. I doubt he will get Willis. Either way it will probably suck.. if it even happens.

Actually it's not a rumor it's CONFIRMED.

Bruce Willis is in and stunt coordinator Simon Crane as the director.

So way back in February of last year we first posted some news saying that Lionsgate would be adapting the video game Kane and Lynch. Since that announcement the game has actually hit shelves and received an unimpressive rating of 65 from critics on Metacritic. However, that doesn't mean that maybe the movie could turn out better than the game in the end, considering it is a rather enticing blend of psychoatic action and character development. Add into the mix Bruce Willis as the mercenary Kane and stunt coordinator Simon Crane as the director and this really starts to sound good. Both were confirmed in an announcement today and production is scheduled to start sometime before the end of the year.

Kane and Lynch is a dark and gritty drama featuring two men: Kane is a flawed mercenary and Lynch is a medicated psychopath. Forced together on a violent and chaotic path of redemption and revenge, no action is considered too harsh as this volatile partnership is pushed beyond reason in this brutally realistic, character-driven shooter. Newcomer Kyle Ward penned the script. Simon Crane will be making his directorial debut, although he has worked as a second unit director and stunt coordinator on films like Terminator 3, Troy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men 3, and Jumper previously.

I was looking forward to this from the start, only because I'm expecting it to be a hard-hitting heavy-weapon loaded extravaganza, but now my interest has definitely increased. This is one time where I wouldn't mind just a movie full of action scenes from start to finish. These two guys, Kane and Lynch, are just insane and I'm sure will pack a punch in the film. Especially with Bruce Willis leading the way! Now we just need to get someone like Billy Bob Thornton cast as Lynch and it'll be good to go. Will the addition of Bruce Willis make this one of the better action films to watch out for?

Default Bruce willis confirmed for kane & lynch movie

Quote:
He's been mooted in the role for a while but what sounds like confirmation that Bruce Willis will star in videogame adaptation Kane and Lynch, has come from an interview with producer Adrian Askarieh at Gamedaily.

Willis will play Adam 'Kane' Marcus, who in the game is a convicted murderer being bused to death row, when another inmate, James Seth Lynch, warns him that an escape plan is about to get underway. It turns out that it's not a rescue but a kidnapping by Kane's former employers, who want their money back, kickstarting a globetrotting action crime drama, with the twist that our heroes (especially Lynch) are about as sociopathic as the villains.

Askarieh claims that Willis called Kyle Ward's screenplay (Ward is also penning Hitman 2 for the same producers) "one of the best action scripts he's ever read", and boils the basic premise down to "the story of a mercenary teaming up with a schizophrenic psychopath to save his wife and daughter". Slightly alarmingly, he also calls it "a great buddy action movie". Just like Lethal Weapon! If Riggs and Murtaugh were on the other side of the law, and Riggs was fond of killing hostages...

Simon Crane (second unit on Tomb Raider and Troy) is directing. Shooting, which is planned (but not confirmed) to take place in South America, Europe and Louisiana, begins next March. Billy Bob Thornton had been rumoured for Lynch at one time or another, but Askarieh now says the role is "about to start casting".
Looking forward to this one, loved the video game. Any thoughts?

Billy Bob and Bruce had nice chemistry in Bandits, so who knows if they'll team up again.

I never played the game, especially since my coworker said that he didn't like it. But I would be interested in seeing a movie for it.

Tried playing the game, but lost interest pretty quickly. Movie sounds better.

I'm intrigued by the cast....wasn't a big fan of the game though. I also don't see how Bruce Willis' role will be different than anything else he's played, but I guess that's beside the point .

When it comes to casting, Hollywood mostly cares about the name and how it will translate to a wider audience. This combination was based on that. They could care less how he looks in the games, because you can always go back and change how the character looks in the next game. So that isn't an issue.

I like the casting of Foxx, should be interesting.

Played this game and HATED it with a passion. A fitting director for a movie adaptation would be Uwe Boll. Then again Steven Spielberg could direct this and it would probably still suck.

I hated the game, because the controls were bad. The story could work though, it was trying to be heat anyway.

I thought the the game controls were frustrating at best, but in regards to the plot. Oh yeah....most definitely. This was one of the better storyline games I've ever played. There is so much material there for an easy film translation. It would be hard to screw up this movie. I'll definitely get my popcorn ready for this flick.

Kane & Lynch Needs a Director Again

Quote:
Kane & Lynch, the long-gestating screen adaptation of the Eidos video game, is looking for a director again now that another filmmaker has backed away from the Lionsgate project.

The Los Angeles Times reports that stunt maestro-turned-director Simon Crane has decided against helming the game-to-film. Crane is said to be eying either Echelon or High Wire as his next directing vehicle instead.

Previous directing contenders for the project, which has Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx attached to play the title characters, reportedly include F. Gary Gray, Antoine Fuqua, Wayne Kramer and Patrick Alessandrin.

Um yeah please take my least two favorite actors and put them in a game i really enjoyed. And oh yeah make Lynch black, because nobody will notice the difference I much rather preferred the rumor that Billy Bob Thornton would be Lynch atleast he looked like him, now we got Ray Charles as Lynch, bullshit. Probably will change the characters name cause it'll be "offensive" otherwise. This will suck more than Max Payne.........and I didn't think that would be possible.
