On a sour note, the third movie of this trilogy from the Russian Director of "Wanted" is being filmed in English while the previous two were both in Russian.
Twilight Watch (2009)

Have you seen these movies?

All I've seen are previews for it and they looked visually stunning!

2nd one is better, but if you have one, you might as well have both.

I watched both via Netflix online viewing. Both should keep you entertained if you don't mind the subtitle's.

+1

The first one was great. The second one was phenomenal. The apocalyptic ending was quite disturbing, but I liked it.

Yeah I'm that way. If I have one in the series I have to have the rest. Haha. It's like an OCD think, I don't know.

Default Great flicks can't wait for the 3rd

Believe it or not.....one day at best buy I saw these on DVD and they looked pretty cool and I saw a trailer for night watch and I was like f it, I'll take a chance on a foreign film( at the time the only foreign movies I would watch were asain) and I loved the movies. It has some cheesy parts, but this flicks were huge in Russia.

To them it was like how I don't know let's say the matrix to America. Mind blowing big budget excellent film.

But to my original point, I was talking to an old friend of mine this absolutely beautiful
sexy Russian chick that I could never seal the deal on....so she comes to my house for
the first time and wants to cuddle up and watch a movie so I tell her pick what you
want. She saw I owned both flicks and it was like she instantly lit up and looked at me and
said in 10 years of living
in America your the first guy I've seen that
likes Russian movies( I hated previous ones but loved the series.)

So I was like yea I'm a huge fan of them and
we talked about the story and she explained
it to me a little better cuz in English translation some is lost and at times the
movie can get confusing. She wants to watch it. And it was that movie that broke the ice
and the magic happened haha.

Anyways, I love the movies...if I can find
them foR a decent price I'll absolutely add this to my collection as the specs seem pretty darn good.

Day watchers and night watchers have been co-existing for hundreds of years, but the balance has shifted and war breaks out.

have not seen them (never knew they existed) but I read night watch. The idea is that there is the normal world (we live in) and a world of magic (be it wizards or vampires or werewolves or shape shifters.... called others). Others are either evil or good. After a war between the good and evil that almost destroyed the world and ended in a stalemate the two sides made a truce and created two "police" forces who's job is to make sure that the creatures of the other side don't abuse their powers and try and shift the power to their side. The day watch is the police force of the evil creatures that go around during the day to make sure that the good creatures don't try anything and the night watch is the opposite.

PS at least for the book, it takes place in Moscow today.

Yes, they are good sci-fi action movies a la Underworld. The mythology is a little darker, but there is a much deeper meaning behind the series which gives it a depth that Underworld cannot match.

I agree that the second one is better because of the fantastic ending.

$27.95 a pop. Yeesh, a little high. I haven't seen Day Watch yet. Night Watch was fun but not exactly high art.
