Default MIB outer slip-case Glue problems!!

Anybody else having a problem trying to removed the Hancock sticker from MIB slip-case? I tried to peel it off 'REALLY' slowly but it still left a large amount of glue, so I tried to remove the glue with some acetone which kind of worked but it also removed some of the slip-case image. Why can't they use the correct glue if they insist on plastering these damn stickers all over our collections, I've now decided i'm not having the slip-cases on any of the Blu's in my collection - it does actually look much better without them!

Alot of people suggested Goo-Gone when I had the same problem with my copy of Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

I had a whole ton of goo left when I removed all the security measures they attach to the case under the shrink wrapping.

In the end I gave up and bought a replacement case from ebay.

Come on guys. Use the sticker to goo method. Delicately remove as much of the sticker as you can. Then take the sticker and stick it to the goo'd up area. Repeat as necessary. This has never failed me. There have been times where I've had to apply the sticker about 10-20 times but I have always been left with a goo free case.

You shouldn't use such a strong solvent as acetone. Use Goo Gone

Another trick is to use a hair dryer. Putting a little heat on the sticker re-activates the glue, letting you peel it off easily.

Excellent recommendations. Patience is required. However when you apply the heat to soften the glue, make sure you slide out the disc's keepcase. The heat can melt and distort the clear sleeve. The sticker to glue method works very well. You just need to have some extra scotch tape nearby to make the process go easier. I'd say 95% of my stickers are removed in this manner with no damage to the cases or slipcovers. Disney seems to "get it" Their stickers peel off the slip cases with ease and haven't lifted the metallic inks.
