I can't decide if it's worth driving 2 hours to see this in Imax. I've got 3 friends willing to throw in for gas but I just can't decide if it's worth driving 2 hours each way to see a 2 1/2 hour movie. I still haven't seen an Imax movie so I'm thinking it'd be a good movie to start.

The only IMAX near me is the Udvar Hazy. It is a very cool place but doesn't do 3D.

I am mixed about IMAX. It is awesome if you have a good seat, and a PAIN IN THE NECK (and eyes, and back) if you have a bad seat.
All my friends want to see the IMAX so I gave them one stipulation, we have to get there really early and get good seats or I won't go.

Hey othello, that theatre you're going to is an IMAX Dome!?! Cause we got one here in Vancouver (probably one of the most famous ones in the world) but they only play nature documentaries there, but I would love for them to play TDK there, so I'm a bit jealous.

Yeah, I've never been to the dome before but I hear the movie is great as long as you sit in the back. The dome isn't directly overhead, its in front of you. The screen is dome shaped and sits on a 30 degree angle so that you feeel like your actually flying over a building.

The theatre just started playing blockbuster main stream films like TDK. It was just a regular Omnitheater until it became IMAX certified a year ago. So I guess I'll post a thread when I see the film to tell everyone how it is.

I'll probably end up seeing both this IMAX and regular IMAX and compare and contrast.

For those of you who have seen this movie in an IMAX theater, how did you go about getting tickets? I tried to get tickets to a showing on Saturday, but I could not get a human being on the line, and their website was not functioning. This was at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC by the way. I have heard its great and would really like to see it, but obviously I do not want to risk driving there with no tickets and then having it be sold out.
