Default 1080p vs 720p

im thinking about getting a 32 inch 720p HDTV and I was wondering when watching blu rays will there be much of a difference between the 720p and the 1080p? My parents have a 1080p and it looks great i was wondering how much of a difference there would be? sorry if there is already a topic on this. thanks.

You won't get the full Blu-Ray experience, since all Blu-Ray releases are 1080p, and a few being 1080i. With 1080i, probably would be fine with 720p. But for those movies that are full 1080p, you will be missing some quality.

This is a huge aspect of discussion, lol. At your size, 37" - there will be little if any difference! You're fine, don't worry.

Exactly. There are some people who I would call 1080p snobs, that everything must be in 1080p. But when your talking about resolution, that is not the only thing that makes a great picture. There are many other factor's that come into play. The general rule of thumb is if you sit 1.5x or greater the screen width, then you won't notice a difference between 1080p or 720p. Now if you sit closer than 1.5x the screen width then you will be able to see the difference. You should be fine with 720p at 37" though.
