Default The Orphanage

My girlfriend and I love stupid horror movies so we decided to rent this Saturday night we put it in and noticed it was in Spanish we were pissed it was late and we both didn't feel like reading so we just said let's give it a chance and thank god we did I haven't had a movie give me the chills that this gave me in a long time. This has to be one of the better movies I have seen this year. Man I was freaking out I can't even imagine how scared my girlfriend was. Go buy/rent this movie awesome horror

This is a great movie. The fact that it is in Spanish shouldn't bother anyone. I think I like foreign films more than American ones on average now.

I agree...it's an EXCELLENT show. I watched it one night while my wife was out of town on business. I laugh about it now, but I looked behind my couch and down the hall a few times for Tomas. (It scared the crap out of me!) I believe it has a 7.1 soundtrack too, which is cool.
I think I remember hearing that this was the director's first movie (forgot his name) and del Toro produced it. ...I apologize in advance if my facts are off. Anyway... I highly recommend it!

Funny to see this thread on the first page.. I randomly decided to watch this movie again today and loved it just as much as the first time. The sound does make it. One of the only modern horror movies to actually scare me.

I bought this on the blu but havent watched it yet. I am sure it will be great because del Toro is an amazing director.

this movie is fantastic. I didn't check behind the couch or anything after watching it but I did get a couple of chills from it.

While I liked it, I didn't think it was scary at all, which kind of disappointed me since everyone was saying how scary it was.

wow, rented this last night, i heard a lot of you say its was a horror version of Pan's Labrynth. While the plot was much different, it was a terrific movie!

the director did a great job with pro-longing suspense, and yet i didn't have that "oh come on already" thought of wanting to know...

it was just chilling how it really created that atmosphere of being back in a familiar place..made u ponder about being back in a place of your childhood and hearing creeks in the wood at night...yikes

I get a kick out of friends of mine that say they hate subtitles. Once I show them Pan's Labrynth or The Orphanage they are sold. Some of the best movies out there are foreign films. The money tends to get put into the movie/story instead of the actors over inflated paycheck.

For anyone who hasn't seen it check out "Devil's Backbone". Awesome ghost story by del Toro.

The best movies are the ones that have subtitles. Those that don't like to read them are just lazy. Which isn't all your fault considering how society tells you that you should do things that require the least amount of brain power. You should learn to love subtitles. There are some wonderful foreign language films that require subtitles that cause you to read them at the bottom.

The Devil's Backbone is another good Spanish horror film, but I do think The Orphanage is superior to that film. Very good movie!
