PS3 New Hard Drive Questions - Blu-ray Forum

Hey peeps. Im thinking of possibly upgrading to a higher GB and would rather do it now before i put too much stuff on there. Anyways, does anyone know a good site to get this from? Also, have you had any problems with doing this, or anything that I should know about before i do this? Thanks again.

I got mine from memoryexpress.com Stargate is a good brand, that's the brand in your PS3 currently.

Careful when removing the screws that you don't strip them, they're usually in there pretty tight. Use the right sized philips screw driver.

That's all the tips I can think of. Hope it helps!

its seagate, not stargate.

and to answeer the OPs question i got a 250GB from amazon for $90

Haha, oops. Guess I got Stargate on my mind...weird since I hate that series.

Thanks, one more question. Which type of hard drive would it be? Serial ATA, IDE...?

i just got mine from bestbuy, it was spur of the moment i wanted it so i went out and got it, its a 320gb drive, its very simple, once its installed it asks u to login because your info is saved on the motherboard, u will have to reload anything uve downloaded and game saves.

There is a backup and restore under the system menus for just this situation. Keep in mind some game saves are protected and can't be copied .. backup and restore is the only option to preserve them.
