hissing through speakers when playing ps3 - Blu-ray Forum

as i said in the title when i am watching a movie on my ps3 there is a loud hiss that comes through the speakers. Its not present on any other source. Its extremely anoying and i cannot figure out what is causing it, any help is appreciated

let me just add that the only other source is cale tv comming from the wall (no cable box)

If it was humming I would say you had a grounding problem somewhere in your electronic chain. Is it through both/all speakers or is the hissing through one channel only?

its all channels and the sub has a slight humm

i have everything pluged into an old monster surge protector

If it is close to a power outlet, move it further away....And is that also plugged into a surge protector? Is the RCA line that goes from the receiver to the subwoofer running next to a bunch of other wires, especially power cords? If so try your best to separate them.

is what plugged into a surge protector. Also, i only have 4 power cords total, including the surge protector. The subwoofer cord only runs close to one, thers really no way around the placement of the wires
