Default Different settings for different movies?

I'm an audio guy and a total noob when it comes to video, so I have a question for you as to what I should consider when getting ready to watch a movie or TV on my Panny 42".

Right now I don't change any settings within the control panel of my TV when watching DVD, BD or TV. Should I? I also don't change them for various types of movies, should I?

For instance, by default my TV is set to display STANDARD. It also has options for VIVID, WARM, etc. Should I be changing these settings depending of media I am watching?

If someone knows of a thread that explains all this, please link to it and I'll have a read-though.

With each input that you have video goin thru you should be able to set your settings for that input.

You can set each video input to different picture settings. Otherwise, you should be able to save a few custom settings on the TV.

I got ya and I understand that, but that wasn't my question.

Let's use animated pics like Cars, Ratatouille as an example. Should I be watching those using the STANDARD, VIVID, WARM picture sttings? Or is this purely a personal choice and one I should just experiment with?

I really hope I'm not coming across as too much of a noob in asking this question. LOL!
