The fog has been out a while here in the uk when are you guys getting it then? .Any of you imported from uk yet? i dont usually like horror but i like this film.They say picture quality is really good ive just ordered mine.

I don't know about that version. I personally liked the remake better. Maybe that's just me, but I'm waiting on that version.

yeah im gonna check the new one out is that out on blu-ray yet though.I was looking up the mist and thought that would be a similar thing but when i found out it was insects no thanks lol

Do not waste your money on buying it on normal DVD let alone on Blu Ray

Seconded. I am very open to remakes. I'm not a Fog obsessoid who thinks the remake was going to be crap regardless. I was very open minded. It is hands down, one of the worst studio horror films I have ever seen.

I actually heard the PQ on the UK Blu-ray of "The Fog" was a mess. Any definitive word on that?

I rented The Fog remake a few years back and actually quit watching midway through, which is something I rarely do.

im not the pickiest person when it comes to pq but i was definitely satisfied with the uk import. if you are a fan of the movie its definitely way better than the dvd and worth the upgrade.
we need more john carpenter on blu-ray
if theres any movie i cant wait for its THEY LIVE

I agree. The original is way better and is a great horror movie.

sure would love to see a nice remaster blu of THE FOG-- I was not impressed with the dvd release a few years back (the laserdisc was actually sharper!)

As for the remake, it was pretty weak and I thought the ending destroyed any hope of the movie even being decent...

I own the UK blu and actually enjoy the presentation. The daytime scenes really stand out imo.

Yeah, it's serviceable, but there's also the pitch issue with the audio. It needs a new master and fixed audio when/if it is released in the US.

I doubt we'll see a new master, although I'm optimistic for fixed audio.
