Was wondering if Im really missing much as this is a 720p set? It has the same 1080 panel as the PZ series but down rezs the 1080 signal. It does have a very good picture and no worse than my last 1080p DLP set. Just curious if there is really a big difference between the 720p and 1080p sets or would I really notice a major difference?

The deal was I exchanged my Samsung dlp even up for the Panny. I didnt have the extra $$$ to add but they wanted about $500 more for the PZ.

I am, and Brett you have the 1080p version of the same set, which I know you already know and if you remember my post on vivid mode, I ended up using custom mode and have grown to like it!!!

The same goes for a 22" 1920x1200 monitor. At computer viewing distances watching a 1080p Apple trailer versus a 720p Apple trailer will show you a great deal more detail. Screen size alone is completely irrelevant. You need to know a) source resolution b) panel resolution c) screen size d) viewing distance c) |

For overall PQ there won't be a big difference between this and an 80U model, but there will be between this and the 800U model. In terms of resolution, it all depends on what you're watching and where you're sitting. |

This works better than plasma/dlp/lcd's that can only handshake up to 1080i, because you eliminate any interlacing/de-interlacing which most often introduces artifacts. |
