"Super 8 Ultra Brothers" will be released on 1/23/09 in Japan.
It's the first UltraMan film shot in HD & also first one released
on Blu-Ray.

I'm excited about this. I'm a tokusatsu fan and this release gives me hope some of my favorite toku heroes will be on Blu too.

No subs = big letdown. The lack of official Ultra anything in the states is appalling.

That's one of the things I like about Blu-Ray: movies from Japan, the only country besides the US that I would get movies from, is in the same region code as the US. While the lack of subs is a pain, we can at least play Japanese Blus normally. I had to alter my DVD player to play Japanese DVDs. (Not a day goes by where I appreciate Blu-Ray ).

Same here. Asian cinema in general is my favorite so having the same A region is great. Unfortunately, Japanese Blu Rays (like DVDs) are over priced and rarely have subs. Thank God for Hong Kong and Deltamac.
