Speaker Wire gauge conversion - Blu-ray Forum

Hey again guys,

I bought some new speaker wire to rewire an old home theater system that I found around the house for which I am planning to buy a new receiver. I also bought a wire stripper and am a bit confused by it. It has what appears to be the millimeter measurements of the wires on it as opposed to the gauge of the wire. I bought 16 gauge speaker wire and was wondering if anybody knew the conversion into millimeters. I will be looking on the internets in a bit, but was hoping you could help me faster than that.

The easiest way would be to eyeball it and try the ones that look closest to your wire size until you find the right one. All it will cost is about 30 seconds of your time and a couple of inches of speaker wire.

yeah I was thinking about that too. Im going to try that when I get home if I can't find the actual conversion.

Look at the American Wire Gauge (AWG) numbers.
