Umbrella Academy

Universal is trying to get into the Superhero game (being one of the studios outside looking in). They've made a deal with Dark Horse and have put Umbrella Academy on the fast track.

As for Umbrella Academy, it won an Eisner Award, which is comicdom's Oscar for a best limited series this past summer at Comic-Con. nd it's said to be a cross between Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol and X-Men, set in an indeterminate time period and featuring mutant superheroes. There will be a continuing story, and Way has said he definitely wants to have storylines that evolve and even conclude, rather than remain ongoing like most superhero titles (which by their perennial nature can't change the main hero too much which is limiting).

Haven't read it. It's a little hard to take a comic written by a singer serious...

why? singers can write just as well as comic book writers. hell, i'm dying to get comic book tattoo, which is based on tori amos' songs. why not? i think there are plenty of great singers out there who could some excellent comics.

I don't know. Just is. I'd probably like it though.

Maybe I should order it from my library. Have you read it yet?
