PS3 help

This was probably already answered but Im new here so if I need linked to another thread thats fine, anywho

In November I purchased a PS3 for my BF,

last night we purchased Wanted and Step Brothers on blu-ray thinking we could watch them on the PS3, we popped one in..and absolutely nothing happened. Didnt auto-start...and the icon for the movie did not show up on any of the menus....

I know some movies wont play on the PS3, are these 2 one of them?? Is there something else that needs done that we are missing?

We did run an update but that didnt help either

Well actually, every BD movie is able to play on the PS3. Have you watched any other BDs lately?

No, these are the first two we've tried.

We checked the settings, it was set to autostart and then we switched auto-start to off thinking that might help..and it didnt.

Im just not sure why it's doing this

turn bd live off maybe? i know when movies first hit, bd live downloads are impossible

if that doesnt work maybe the update killed your ps3

Possible problem with the blu-ray drive. Is it playing games and regular dvd's ok? If not, almost definitely a drive problem. Even if it does play other discs fine though, it could still be a drive problem. Call Sony if turning off BD Live doesn't solve it.

You're not getting this icon under Video (which may turn into a rectangular graphic unique to the movie after a couple of seconds, depending on the movie)

Also the disc is clean and label side up (label towards PLAYSTATION 3 logo)

All other games play wonderfully, thats why I was wondering what the problem was.

And as far as the icon, thats the one I was looking for and that didn tshow up either

bd live wasn't the problem then?
