Yep that's why you should wait for reviews before importing titles released by smaller distributors.

Wow, that bad? Be careful when you import.

you should have put something about them being german imports in the title thread. i saw it and thought fight club had been released in the US, got excited, then read the rest of the title and got sad b/c they were crappy, then was relieved to find out they were imported

edit: in no way was i saying i'm glad you got crappy imports, i was just happy fight club didn't' receive a crappy US release (yet i guess)

I thought it looked like the DTheater version, just not that close. They're virtually indistinguishable. I sold my DTheater cassette for silly money not that long ago.

I'm assuming you ordered these from amazon.de? Is it difficult to order from this site if I'm in the U.S.?

I would never blindly import a Blu-ray without performing serious due diligence on them. Some of the companies releasing Blu-rays in Europe are dodgy at best with upconverted masters and other problems.

I just watched Fight Club on a 100" screen and IMO, the OP is over exaggerating,(OP using an 83 cm,(32inch), sized screen). While it obviously doesn't match a BD of a more recent movie, to call it no different than the DVD, is pure hyperbole. I actually expected worse...

Can't disagree on the expensive nature of German imports,(and Euro imports in general), though. They're taking the piss!

well... i know sky captain from his numerous post and we almost never share the same opinions, so i guess we won t agree on this one either, but i claim it one more time, the blu ray of fight club is almost the same crappy look han the dvd, i watched two scenes of both with the exact same settings and one after the other, it s almos the same, it s really awfull for a blu ray and i don t recommend it for anyone, i ll well it as well as fist of legend by the way... if it was even worse like skycaptain would have expected then it would have no difference at all with the dvd...!

I certainly wouldn't call the DVD 'crappy' either...
