Hello Im the New Guy!!!!!!!!!With a lot of questions.
I just bought my new Panasonic TH-42PX80U I got at Sears for $699.99 and Panny DMP-30 for $199.99 with 2.6 firmware and it has an awesome picture and so far Batman : Dark Knight looks amazing the tv is hooked up with a Monster 1000 Ultra HDMI cable playing at 1080p / 24p and got some good settings off TweakTv.com. My question is how is the 720p tv playing 1080p with 24/p. And also should i upgrade to the TH-42PZ80U and will I see a better picture , Im about 6 feet from it. Im looking at a panasonic home theater or can i piece a 2.1 a Tru HD System? Also what is good things to buy to get rid of the noise interference on the tv. My setup: Panasonic TH-42PX80U 720p / But playing movies in 1080p / 24p Panasonic DMP-30k I have a cheap surge with no clean filter will it help if I get a monster power center? Also if you have any recommendations let me know thanks!!!! |

its accepting the 1080p signal but is not playing at 1080p resolution as the 42" px80u is only capable of 1024 x 768. Everything is being converted to ~720p/60.
I have the 50" px80u. Very very nice TV. ![]() I personally let mine accept 1080p, but I just turn off 24fps. |

For the speaker question, I don't really know what you mean by a 2.1 true hd system, since there is no such thing as a "true hd system" since TrueHD is just a codec used to encode audio. I would say that you are better off, from a sound quality perspective, to piece together a 5.1 system with a receiver over getting a Panasonic HTiB though. However, that's up to you to decide how much you want to spend and if the added money for sound quality increase is worth it. Just go listen to as many speakers/receivers/htib you can and find what works for you. Finally, in reference to the power conditioner. The power conditioner is more there for general protection of your equipment. I don't think, and I would say many would agree, that you will notice an improvement in picture or audio quality from purchasing a power conditioner. What you will get out of it though is the peace of mind that your equipment will be protected better. That being said, I don't think monster would be the direction you would want to go for a power conditioner, and I would look into something nicer from Furman or PS Audio. Hope that helps! |

I went to a Monster training as a part of my job and let me tell you that whole clean filter stage 1,2,3 is all a joke. Save your money |
