I didn't mind the first after it got past that lame beginning with young Michael. Once he busted out of Smith's Groove, it actually entertained me.

He said he didn't want this one to resemble the original sequel so that makes kind of excited. It gives him the ability to take the story anywhere he wants, and that can lead to a new fresh story. So yeah the character may not be original, but at least it looks as though we'll get an original story and so for that I'm excited.

Mike survives everything!

And I liked the first one after the stupid backstory...the only thing I disliked was how there was not suspense or build up but whatever.

not threadcrapping, just moviecrapping. i hated rob zombie's halloween. i dont get why movies are being remade when they're great to begin with? sure, reboot a franchise that sucks or performed horribly in the BO, but remaking something that's considered a classic just to make more money? oh, hey, i guess i just answered my own question there.

I guess it's just as well. I mean his "original" movies are just rip-offs of classics anyways. I like how, if your white and you live outside the city limits you're automatically a crazy, inbred, redneck, serial killer. Way to milk the stereotype Rob.

I am excited to see ROB ZOMBIES interpretation on a sequel to HIS own film remake. If you aren't a fan don't see it, but for the fans of his artistic work (yes I said artistic!) we will all be pleased to see it. I don't know how he is going to go about this from being that Michael did get shot in the face but maybe he disappears at midnight and comes back next halloween lol. Who knows but this should be another awesome installment of his own movie.

totally agree, whats next? they remake Goodfellas, Jaws, Godfather and ruin all those classics.. they need to stick to new material, unless the original blew and it needs a refreshing

No one is aloud to express their opinion? Sorry but I agree with most on this. A classic should not remade. Movies that sucked and failed miserably (IE Ang Lee's Hulk) deserved to be rebooted. Just because you love all of Zombie's work does not mean that opinion is shared by everyone. I am not the tool that came on here and stated Zombie should die, be killed, or be raped by Magic Johnson like most fanboy trolls.

... Uh, Michael Myers in the original film was not insane or mentally-ill -- he was quite simply evil and some kind of inhuman and unexplainable force. The fact that Rob Zombie felt in his reinvention that making Michael yet another abused and neglected child coming to boil over his inner-building rage and hatred towards others (and yet again make more than half of all the surrounding characters sketch-level white trash caricatures) was interesting or engaging was seriously mistaken in my opinion.

I respectfully disagree and passionately-disliked Zombie's remake and have no interest whatsoever in the continuation of his vision.

If you want to get unrealistic...then yeah...consider him the embodiment of pure evil.

He was sent to an insane asylum because... well, where else would they lock him up? He was not sick in the original John Carpenter film -- he was simply "evil" and, since he ultimately could not be killed, some kind of unexplainable force of nature (much like Mr. Carpenter himself has stated in the past).

That is the major difference between the two versions of Michael Myers: one is evil, the other is not mentally-sound. There is a monumental difference between the two and we'll just have to agree to disagree.

You should really use the word "tools" in the correct context. Your sloppy use of the word makes you look ignorant. Secondly, when a community member posts an announcement, it is acceptable for people to agree and disagree with the topic at hand. It's not "thread-crapping" (another term you didn't use correctly) to disagree with mikem471.

Go to school. Stop making yourself look foolish.

The Pulse of Radio reports:

Rob Zombie has been confirmed to write and direct "H2", a sequel to his 2009 remake of "Halloween" that is slated to open this October. According to Variety, Zombie will begin shooting the movie in March on an accelerated schedule. The new film will pick up right where the last one ended and chronicle the aftermath of a relentless killing spree by the Michael Myers character. There's no word on which, if any, cast members will be returning for the new installment.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Co.

"Following the success of 2007's 'Halloween', we are thrilled to be back in business with Rob Zombie, bringing a sequel to theaters," Weinstein said in a statement. "The fans have made it clear — and we agree — that they feel the franchise is in great hands with Rob Zombie."

"I am very excited to be working with Bob Weinstein again and returning to the world of 'Halloween'," said Zombie. "The remake laid the groundwork, now it's time to really take Michael Myers to the next level. I believe we've just barely scratched the surface of where we can take this series."

Zombie has repeatedly denied any interest in helming a "Halloween" sequel, despite the first one being the most successful of his three feature films to date. But he also said in a recent call with reporters that he wouldn't necessarily want to produce a another director's sequel either. "You know, it all depends. I mean, I don't know what their plans are. You know, if I was gonna produce somebody else's movie I would wanna know what it was about. I always get offers to make a 'Rob Zombie Presents' or produce things or, you know, shadow produce things where you actually don't do any work and you just pick up a check. But I've never done it because I feel weird about putting my name on something that I'm not responsible for."

Zombie told Variety that the sequel to his remake will not resemble "Halloween 2", the follow-up to the original 1978 horror classic.

Zombie also explained why he decided to come back to the franchise after initially taking a pass, saying, "I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again. Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out November 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."

The next film on Zombie's slate was supposed to be a biker flick called "Tyrannosaurus Rex", but he recently revealed that he had yet to even write the script for that one.

Zombie recently issued a box set of all the recordings by his previous band, WHITE ZOMBIE, and will release his fourth solo studio album next year.

Not gonna lie. I'm really starting to look forward to this

I know people think Indy 4 was a rape of their childhood. Indy 4 was not bad. But this is really a rape of a franchise. "Ugh, monkeys and praie dogs in for 10 seconds". Our masked killer has turned from a silent, deadly, killing force without any reason for his madness to a wimpy trailer trash 8 year old. I dont like to thread crap but I seriously hated what happened with Michael. Why cant they just continue from part 6 or part 8 for that matter?

Thats exactly how I feel. I loved the old Halloween movies (except 5, 6, and 8). Zombie's remake is a friggin abomination and one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
