Even since I jumped into the blu-ray bandwagon, I have been buying BD movies I have never seen before, taking a chance that it'll be a good movie. At times I end up selling it back to the retail for store credit so that I could purchase another movie. This gets pretty expensive having to spend $30 on a movie and later it just sucked then selling it back for only $10 or less. I'm more interested in buying a movie that I have never seen before then watching the movie over again.
Does anyone else buy movies without watching them before? Since BD movies take a long time renting at Blockbuster on-line, I'm craving for new movies to watch every week. My next purchase I'll be buying that I haven't seen would be Night at the Museum. Hopefully this will be a keeper ![]() |

Yeah, I bought House of Flying Daggers, but thought it was kaka and decided to list it on ebay. From now on I'm going to try to see the film first before buying.
I'm tempted to get Warriors of Heaven and Earth, but I'd probably end up selling that as well. |

I ask because HoFD was notorious on dvd for having major PQ issues due to how it was mastered long before people complained about it on BD. As for the movie itself, it's not Zhang Yimou's best, though not anywhere as bad as his most recent Curse of the Golden Flower which, despite being one of the most incredible pieces of eye candy I've ever seen, was barely watchable due to lack of decent writing and character development. |

You need to shop around if you are getting just $10 for a new release BD. Heck even Ebay is better than that!
And yes I buy sight unseen. I have a 14 month daughter and the $24 is about the same as a movie night before babysitter fees! Less if you throw in dinner. |

Nine only. I am also a blind buyer. Some of them I've seem before (for example, Csaino Royale, Rocky Balboa, MI 1 & MI 2) but most of them I just read the introduction shown in the back of the disc. Of course, I will also try to read the review from the magazine.

I'll check the Fettastic tier group list first before I buy a movie I haven't seen. I'll probably pick up the new release Keanu Reeves movie, it has good reviews on Netflix too.
I'll buy all Harry Potter movies, Matrix movies and LOTR movies in BluRay no matter what the PQ is. |

With blu-ray discs I wouldn't be too worried about buying movies and not liking them. It's not much of a risk because they sell on ebay for about the same price, even used, that they did when you buy them. The key is just to find a good price. So you might lose a couple of dollars but if you rented it, it would be like losing that same amount, so you might as well risk buying it. Oh and by the way yes I buy movies that I havn't seen before, but I like movies as a whole and have over 700, so I'm not too worried.

I won't buy a movie unless I've seen it...People need to pay more attention to the film critics before going to the movies...they walk in the movies pay $75 and come out saying that movie sucked...reading reviews helps alot,I can't beielve the garbage people sit through these days. They don't make them the way they used to.
