Default $400 for the Pioneer VSX-1018TXV-K, get it?

So I didn't want to spend $400 on a system, let alone a receiver (you won't believe how cheap I really am), but this seems like a VERY good receiver. It is on sale for boxing day at $400 at BB. Here is the link. Opinions, jump on it, or should I keep on searching for a Onkyo 606 in Canada, or another receiver all together.

If I were to buy this, I would more or less get Polk 6750's, or something similar.

Thanks.

P.S. I know me saying $400 on a system is too much is ludicrous but I don't need HD surround, I just want it.

Well, I've answered your question in the other thread you started, but I'll say it again. Go for it! That's a great receiver and a great price. I have an Onkyo 605 and the 606 is basically the same receiver with an extra hdmi. It performs wonderfully, but make no mistake...that Pioneer is a better receiver than the Onkyo, so if you can get it then do it and don't look back. I'm an Onkyo fan and a happy user, but I'd be doing you a disservice by not recommending that Pioneer. You would have to go up to an Onkyo 806 to compare to that Pioneer and of course its much more expensive than the 606.

I have a PS3, so I have got the player. No 1080p tv though, just 1080i.

Once you get it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

And as for this deal, go for it!
