Help me fix my controllers!

On both my PS3 controllers, my left knobs get stuck when I move them, then release them. When I release them, they don't move to their center position. I play NHL 09 all the time, and it s*cks when my player gets out of position because of my stuck controllers.

Is there a way to lube the knobs with a q-tip? What do I use as llube?

Help is greatly appreciated.

First you must change your habits. Wash your hands before you play with those controllers.. that's just gross that you've caked in enough crap off your hands to make those things stick.

Second, I recommend taking the casing apart and, using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol, clean the grime and crap all out of the controller. You shouldn't need to lube anything.

Or use a wireless keyboard instead of a controller when you 'surf' the internet on your PS3.

I've had the controlls for over two years. I read that the knobs rub off on the casings and leaves white particles on the edges. Just trying to clean/fix them. Don't be a JA about it.

The OP is quite right actually, i've had the same thing happend on mine only on the UP position of the remote....thats for playing COD4, and white resedue does form....i dont' know the solution OP just trying to get some of these Jackasses of you....

oh please, don't get your undies in a bunch - the "surfing" comment was funny!


Of course there's going to be some "white" dust that comes off the controller from use, but this should collect on the actual post of the joystick between the ball and the pad where the post contacts the edge of the controller. If you're working this crap into the socket so much that it causes it to stick, there's more than just dust in there. Dust doesn't just "stick" - it needs *something* to bond.

Besides, I told you how to fix it

You don't put lube in the controller, you clean the gunk out and viola. All I'm saying is if you wash your hands before you get them all sweaty on the controller its a good preventive measure to keep sweaty GRIME from getting in it and in effect prolonging the time in between cleaning the controller.

You don't need to include the J before the A - so you know - just read my quote and it will all be clear.
