Default Anyone else as anal as I am about taking care of Blu-ray cases

My friend picked up my copy of Rambo yesterday and put it in my Blu-ray player. The disc was fine but when he left I noticed a fingerprint on the inside of the case. I'M WEIRD OK I KNOW, but I can't stand that stuff!!

I just needed to vent.

I'm anal now that I don't let anyone borrow my Blu-ray's. Because I had a large collection of DVD's and at one time my home looked liked Blockbuster, friends were always borrowing stuff and never returning them. And when they did, the cases were damaged and because I was loaning them out to a few other people, those who did borrow would say "maybe it was someone else that borrowed it, not me?" crap. Knowing quite well that they were the ones that borrowed it. One time my wife lent out a box set of a TV series to a friend, the friend returned it back a year later and the boxes were destroyed. She lent it out again to another friend and after a year of asking them back, she lost them and in return, she gives us like $60 gift card for Starbucks.

Well, I guess it could be worse... my neighbor has all the guys on our neighborhood wanting to borrow all his expensive tools and stuff and they return them back late.

Listen carefully dude, when this happens what you need to do is buy a chainsaw and when those borrowing friends come you lure them inside and you chainsaw them into many pieces.
Oh and this is very important: you must remember to carefully cut off their arms and legs or they might just come back to life and continue borrowing. I know this is not easy but you must be strong.

I am SOOOOOO anal as well. I hate sticky residue on the case. How your friend got a finger print INSIDE your Rambo is a mystery to me. Was he eating pizza and didn't wash his hands before inserting it? From now on tell your friends to keep his hands off your stuff. Next time he wants to watch one of your blu-rays tell him you will just have to put it in yourself.

OK, I have one exception and that is if you have a newborn who is teething and can crawl. Fortunately my son is five now but I remember when he was a baby and I would find some of my cases with these teeth impressions. Hehe...

As for sticky residue...oh....I got to show you this....

I ordered a DVD online and it came like this...some glue like residue all over it or perhaps tape or something. I couldn't get back my money because the person stopped their account and it's partly my fault as well because I order too many DVD's (and now Blu-rays) online that by the time I watch them (3 or 6 months or a year later), I discover too late that it may be messed up. So, I inspect everything I order now as soon as I get it instead of expecting everything I get will be fine.

Anyone know where you can buy empty blu-ray cases? I'm talking about the exact same cases as the movies come with. The ones on Amazon are terrible - different shade of blue, bigger, more square, etc.

I hate it when my wife handles the movies. So, I always take care of the HD equipment and the Blu-ray movies.

I let a friend borrow a blu-ray, which I will never do again. I have no idea why I let him borrow that one.

When I got it back, the paper was wrinkled from being wet(I had bad thoughts about that).

Then he made a comment and I was scared to look at my own disc.

He said "It's true that new coating on the blu-ray, it's alot harder to scratch and scuff-up", "The kid is proof of that"...

When he say "The Kid" he is talking about his 4 yr old son.

I did not ask what he meant, I just said ok, I gotta go!

I think people should just take a razor to every new case. That way they are already broken in and they won't care anymore what kind of condition they are in. It's like when you buy a new car, the first dent is the worst, after that you don't care because it already has a dent. So get the first ding out of the way on the cases and call it a wrap.

I let people borrow my DVDs. No one has else has Blu so no one's asked... but I'd be pissed if they messed up my stuff.

Yes, I am anal about my Blu-Rays, and DVD's. My neighbor borrowed my Dark Knight Blu, and left fingerprints on it, but at least no scratches. I might let him borrow from me again if that's the worst he does to my movies.

If I see someone putting prints on there they are going to get scolded though.

Keep your blu's away from the women lol I'm anal with my blu's why shouldn't I be? We all pay a lot of money for them. I particularly careful with Band of Brothers. The steel case is nice and can easily scratch. It came with the outer slip cover so I use that to shield it as best as I can.

I'm very anal when it comes to my movies. I freak when I find a mark on them. I won't lend them out to anyone, or let anyone touch them except for myself.

what i hate the MOST is when someone takes a dvd out of the player and sets the disc on top of the player without putting it back in its case. they keep doing this until you go to use the dvd player and theres 5 or 6 discs stacked on top of each other. ARGHH
