this is in my top 5 movies of all time, but from what I've read the PQ isn't that much of a difference than an upconverted SD-DVD. Only reason I never got it, but still may someday just to have it mingle with the rest of the blu's.

The Australian Blu-ray import released by Sony is quite good actually.

Actually, I thought it looked pretty good. I have never seen the DVD, but it would have to be a pretty awesome DVD to hit what I watched. High-Def Digest gave it a 3.5 on the video quality, and I'd probably agree with that.

So I have an order on this at cd-wow, it says its region free over there but I dont really know if they are a valid source of information.

Can anyone take a look at maybe confirm it using the info they gave with it, looking at the release date its a pretty recent release, but I'm not really sure.

PQ is pretty decent. You can definitely tell it's not DVD.

Just saw the Broadway musical in New York City (twice actually) and loved it. It's a shame this bluray hasn't gotten a new scan and transfer.

transfer is the same already used in AU and part of the EU from Sony... this UK release has just a little difference in color grading... still prefer the sony version anyway

The Sony release has issues, what has happened here:

DNR has been applied to the Sony release. The UK release is the best version thus far.

The better color balance is a bigger reason to get the UK edition than the slight DNR of the Australian Sony release.
