Default Cable to pass 1080 from Computer

Hey-- What kind of cable to do I need to pass more than 480i(i would like to pass 1080) to my TV. It has 1080p in through HDMI, so I would assume that is the only option?

HDMI and a high quality cable is your best option to pass 1080P video.

Does your computer video card have a DVI connection? Maybe a DVI to HDMI cable would do it.

But if you want to output 1080P from a computer from a BD or HD DVD I think you'll also need you need a HDCP compliant video card.

also ati is coming out with a hole new line up of "video cards" but technicaly they are GSPPU(Graphics, Sound and Physics Processing Unit) the product date is may 15 iw ould buy one of those cards becuase it will send your video and audio at full hd across a hmdi cable which is supose to be built into the bord much like a dvi and of course it will have HDCP( for a rumord price of around 300$ but as of know a dvi-to-hdmi cable will be your best beat but make shur your system is powerfull enouf to handle full hd

You can pass 1080P via VGA, but HDMI will look slightly better, if you can do it. This is all system-dependent.

You will see newer TVs coming out sans VGA input, because the movie industry knows most people can live without HDMI and be perfectly happy, but they can't easily copy-protect VGA output.
