Default Is anybody else going to catch "The Beast" on Thursday?

I was just wondering who else is going to catch "The Beast" when it premires on A&E in the US on Thursday. I just saw Patrick Swayze's interview with Barbra Walters and it's made me very excited to see it.

So I actually watched tonight and I wanted to post my thoughts here. I essentially thought the show was pretty good. I definitely think that the actors (especially Patrick Swayze) make the show, as the plot (so far) has been beaten to death for years. Some of the scenes were cheesy, but the acting and delivery was remarkably good across the board. I amust also give credit to Travis Fimmel, who I was prepared to dislike but actually impressed me quite a bit. He obviously could have played his sidekick character by the book, but he never annoyed me or seemed amatuerish, instead his character seemed genuinely intelligent and creative. On the other hand, Swayze's character seems somewhat cookie-cutter for now, but he's great in the role and it's amazing to see him doing such an intense role.

One other point of contention is that I noticed a fair amount of jarring continuity errors in shot sequences, like characters' heads changing position and similar flubs. Perhaps the show needs a better continuity checker on set.

In all, I'm very interested to see more episodes, and I hope they go in a new direction with the tired plot.

Finally, I was surprised at how liberal A&E is as a network. This was the first original series I've watched on A&E, and I was surprised at the amount of language and violence they allowed (it wasn't even TV-MA, either). I find it refreshing that A&E is so edgy, bravo!
