I just got a P2500 and I am having a problem where every time I turn off the unit, the resolution reverts back to 1080p-unfortunately my TV only supports 1080i.
It connects via HDMI to a receiver (Onkyo TX-SR706) that DOES accept 1080p, but the output cannot be interlaced to 1080i. It has the latest firmware as of today (2.4). Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas how to keep the HDMI output from changing? |

Try going to the TV,......then to the Amp with HDMI OUT from the TV,...or RCA's to the 7.1 inputs,...or optical if the Amp doesn't have individual inputs for 7.1. The simplest solution, however, would be if your Amp had selectable output for 1080i that could be saved in setup. Edit: Since your TV only goes to 1080i,....try hooking the "component" outputs from the player to the TV. That will establish the output from the 2500 at 1080i (p is only through HDMI). If the player has all the outputs live,...then you can hook the HDMI to the Amp (nothing from the amp to the tv then),...if it's only one or the other,....then you are back to the original post. ![]() Bear in mind,..... upscaled video (SD DVD's) is only available through HDMI,....so you may have to sacrifice some sound for the picture. I wish I knew what happened, but everything seems to work fine now. 1080i now comes from the HDMI without having to do anything. I'm happy but perplexed.
BTW Sammy, Onkyo receiver works just fine. It does everything I could want. Plenty of power for even a mid size room. Only complaint (other than not converting 1080p to 1080i) is HDMI switching is a bit slow...it takes 3-5 seconds for any picture or sound when switching sources. I dont have anything to compare it to, so this could just be normal. I think it was a bargain for less than $600. |
