Default Elemental Designs

I have found alot of info regarding the ED subs but I was wondering if anyone on the site has and of their speakers(6T6's, 5T5's etc). http://www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=2_42

I'm looking for a new set and beel eyeballing theis 6T6 towers and 6T6 center to start then get either some more 6T6's or 5T5's for the rear surrounds.

The front towers + center can be had for under $600. And the rears for $200-365(5.) or $400-730(7.) For a total of $800-1330 depending on configuration.

Does anyone have any suggestions on other speakers in that price range? Total budget for speakers would be no more than $1500 done in stages.

been wondering it myself.....pondering spending A LOT more than their prices on other speakers, and may be wasting it if those towers and the matching center are really top notch. Not a lot of selection for towers and centers on their site and it made me wonder if they were gonna bring bigger/better/higher priced models in the future.

I'd love to pick up 2 quality towers and a center for under 6 bills!

I do not have any ED products and was wondering about the build quality of their speakers. They seem to have good prices but I was wondering how the build quality compares to the other speaker manufacturers like Axiom or the Rockets.

my concern is how would their 250 per speaker towers compare against towers from other brands that run 700 each? hard to believe that for that price the sound/quality would be equal.....but who knows w/o a listen?

I read the entire review.....sounds like they had quality construction and great sound, but that a number of minor improvements could be made to make them sound/look better. The reviewer defended the few faults he found by reminding the reader to be forgiving considering how low the asking price is. In the end he liked them overall, and would highly advise purchasing some if you're looking for a good quality set of towers in a modest price range.

Kinda ends up being "you get what you pay for" in my mind. The good thing is that they don't underperform for the money. Lot of towers out there at 250 each would absolutely fail to wow you in any respect, but this reviewer was actually quite impressed with this product while testing the sound with various cd's.

If 500 bucks is your budget for your fronts then these sound like the way you should go!

I hear the sub is good, but I don't know about their speakers. I would look at Polk Audio RTi or RTi A series, Monitor Audio Bronze series, Klipsh, or Energy.

I've got their speakers (see signature) and have been happy with them, particularly for the price. The sound is clear and I think they look very good, especially the towers. This is my first real speaker set however so I don't have a lot to compare it to.
Full disclosure, I grew up with their owner/founder and am very good friends with him. I've visited their shop a couple times and am really impressed by the knowledgeable staff and how much they care about their products. They are really striving to improve.

Polk RTI $300-$1000(?)
Polk Rti $899-1699
Monitor Audio Bronze series $??
Klipsh $538-abillion no really $20000
Energy $550-3000

What I am wondering is how would the lower end of each of those would compare to the ED 6T6 towers.

I would also like to suggest some towers I personally heard.

The AperionAudio 4T towers which can be had for $650 for the pair but the build quality and sound are exceptional.

Check them out.

I'm currently running the 6T6 towers and center in my setup. I love the sound they produce. I personally haven't been let down by these yet. What exactly are people looking for? A hands' on review? I'm nowhere near as articulate as the review posted above, but I can let you know where I stand.

I came from a set of TSi Polk towers. I loved the sound of them, but was always wanting a little more low-end. I have been using eD speakers in my car for years, and have been impressed with the build quality and durability of eD products there. So I considered their home speakers when I was looking to upgrade. I talked with Alex and Chris a few times, and they assured me that if I didn't like them, I could return them without hassle. Even living in Canada, they would take care of me on shipping, and duty if need be. I've always been impressed with the customer service, and really liked the car-audio from them, so I purchased my front stage , a pair of A6-6T6 towers and an A6-6T6 MTM center. First, they come shipped very well. The towers were packed in styrofoam and wood bracing, almost more protection than the president. Once they were connected, I did my own "break-in" on them, by running an old techno CD while I was at work. Probably not a necessary step, but I'm a little weird, so it's okay. I really like the sound on them now. They never sound strained or overworked on my current amp, which going by the book is feeding them 150w @ 6ohms. As for movies, the center is strong and very well-suited to work with the towers, as dialog never gets lost, and never sounds muddy or dull.

The construction of the speakers is as good as most other speakers that I've seen. I like the matte finish on the speakers, and will be getting the same on the sub I purchase, once finances are back on track. They come with an included set of spike feet for carpeted floors, but I have hardwood, so mine are sitting directly on the floor. The terminal cups are of standard quality, and are 5-way binding posts, like most speakers on the market. The finish is durable enough to survive my 5-year-old, and my two cats.

Overall, I am very happy with these, and can't see myself upgrading for quite sometime. I believe there was a thread here somewhere, that asked if you would buy the same speakers again. I stated there, that with the same budget, I would no doubt buy the same speakers, as I am very happy with them. Are there other brands that are better? Sure. But I'm not willing to pay the price point to find a better speaker than what I have now.

Once my finances straighten out, I'll be purchasing an A2-300 sub with matte finish and either the 5TC's or 5T5's for surrounds. Hope that helps anyone considering.

Just ordered my 6T6 towers and center channel last night.
If they're anything close to the quality of their automotive speakers, I'm sure I'll be very happy.
