Default Towelhead

Thoughts?

I thought most of the acting was good. The "in everyone's business" neighbors were only decent. The main girl is great and very pretty. She looks younger than she is (she was at least 18 when it was made).

My main problem is I didn't get the ending. I can't say more than that without spoilers.

I need to watch this. It's been sitting on my shelf for a week now from netflix. Every time I go to watch it a friend brings me a movie to watch. It kept getting pushed to the back of the line.

I thought it was funny how I got Baghead and Towelhead the same day from netflix and they were no where close to each other in my queue.

Anyways once I see it I will post back and chat about it with you.

This was one great movie! Loved it! The father was hilarious. And the main character was amazing.

I do have to say I found this movie very uncomfortable to watch, regarding the content. That being said it was done tastefully and in good taste.

I didn't think it was hard to watch at all. Maybe I could somehow tell the girl wasn't an adolescent... or perhaps Aaron Eckhart can't be creepy to me. I actually sympathized with his character more than the girl and I'm not sure I was supposed to =P.

Darko. I think you'll enjoy it =).

This movie was great. I certainly LOVED it to be honest. A little uncomfortable, but you have to get the overall context of it. The book was great as well.

Finally got around to seeing it. I'm kind of torn between calling this a really good film to a fair film. The acting was good and it captured the teenage years very well.

I'm not sure it really accomplished it's mission of making a statement but it did have it's moments.

The ending was what it was. I didn't read much into it other than what was shown. Most of the story was wrapped and it had nowhere else to go really. But I guess understanding birth and the glory of it hits the mark. When thinking about the outcome of ones actions a teenager learns what it means to take a step towards adulthood. While another one begins its journey from infant to that unsure destiny that lies ahead.Life is a cycle and it begins again. Moments and lessons learned is what forms us into who we are. One lesson learned, more to come.

I'm not convinced the girl in the movie is 100% innocent in her actions with the neighbor. But a grown man should know better as well.He should have been able to see her insecurity and understand she was just trying to understand herself and purpose. I kind of felt like her dad was just as bad as the neighbor thou. Abuse is abuse no matter how you look at it when it comes from an adult onto a child.

It's easily worth watching for anyone who likes to see quirky small flicks that no one else seems to see.

Is it a good or great movie? That's just hard to say given what it is about.

Jasira was just a 13 year old girl which her mom's bf or whatever he (Barry) was, shaved her private area and that was completely inappropriate. Then, when she moved to her dad's place she became infatuated more or less infatuated with the married guy next door (Mr. Vuoso) and he didn't tell her it was wrong, so... The rest doesn't need to be explained.

He was a pedo and Barry probably would have done the same if she stayed any longer.

If anyone wants to be technical, it's a hebephile.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebephilia

Girls these days grow up faster and this unfortunately happens a lot more because everything is so sexualized. Plus, female teachers who were thought to not step over the line are doing this type of thing these days.

This is just sick.

And a few years ago, Netflix made this movie:

This movie was uncomfortable to watch, but Cuties is probably even worse.

So you bumped a 15 yo thread to lecture that hebephilia is wrong and modern day media sexualizes children.
