Default The Best Show That Never Had A Chance

If the show has more than three seasons it doesn't count.

My favorites are

Firefly - In time this might have been as good as Buffy. The first season was much stronger than Buffy and Angel's first seasons =].

Profit - Ahead of it's time x over 9000. The show actually focused on the bad guy. They made him disturbed, sexy, and darkly humorous. Adrian Pasdar from Heroes was the main role.

The best one for my money in the last decade was Miracles on ABC. It did get a dvd release from Shout Factory but it would have nice to see that show get more than a half season. It starred Skeet Ulrich as someone investigating supernatural miracles. That show had a lot of possibility that was killed when the early stages of the Iraq war kept preempting it.

Raines - This was a really good show, and Jeff Goldblum was pitch-perfect with his role as detective Michael Raines. Unfortunately, there were only 7 episodes. A great show gone before its time.

My Own Worst Enemy - A great show in the tradition of "Alias"! I had thought for sure that this would be the comeback for Christian Slater. Unforturnately, NBC didn't seem to think so and the show was canceled after only 9 episodes. Another great show taken before its time.

I believe I'm the only human being who remembers "Our World", an ABC News history program (think a serious version of "I Love the 80's"), that they ran for one season....against the first season of the Cosby Show.
I also believe I made the right watching decision.

(And c'mon, even if it could never possibly be "as good as the movie", can't we at least give Animal House's officially studio-sanctioned "Delta House" points for trying?)

I have to agree with those two. I watched the entire run of Raines thinking it was a cop who saw dead people. When you found out he actually didn't see dead people but it was his way of coping with things, it was kinda cool.

My Own Worst Enemy was just getting interesting when it got axxed. The last episode was quite the shocker.

I did think it was a travesty for Moonlight, Journeyman and Firefly to get cancelled.

Wow some great shows listed here I havn't thought of in years (Profit, Brimstone, Brisco County, Dead Like Me).

Personally I was always disappointed they didn't finish the story of Carnivale (HBO).

The last few years, I've been giving shows a season or two before I even check them out (on DVD/blu) because so many that seem promising get cancelled so early. (Like just last week I finally started watching Dexter!)

Dexter is a show I wish only got one season. Most disagree (meaning you'll probably like it )

Oh I thought of another. The Dresden Files. The show had it's flaws but was extremely enjoyable.

I really liked HBO's Rome, I would have liked to see it continue, even though they were able to wrap it up nicely.

Bruno Heller who was creator has said he wants to do a couple of Rome movies with Vorenus and Titus. Even though that does not seem possible due to how it ended he said it was possible.
