Vertigo came close, but it's still no Dark Knight.

I love Hitch as much as anybody, but even he'd tell you he's made some stinkers. "Paradine Case" and "Topaz" are as bad as any bad film being made today, no joke. And there were close to a dozen or more films that were simply too mediocre to remember, like "I Confess", "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", "Under Capricorn", "Family Plot", etc... And I'm just talking about his post-1940 works. Good films from his days in England are actually the exception, not the rule.

Hitch is remebered (and rightly so) for the one out of three films he made that turned out to be genuine classics. Considering his prolific output, one out of three isn't bad by a long shot, and the man has made more classics than most directors ever will.

Using big letters doesn't make something true.

Your sarcasm is noted and appreciated.

Unfortunately, I found myself replying to one of the posts you're referring to... so in reality I helped perpuate them.

I must exercise restraint!

If Psycho is considered one of Alfred's better movies then I have no reason to bother watching any of his others because I found that movie to be horrible. That's just my opinion.
