Default Comcast HD DVR Question....

This is in the off topic thread, but I need an answer quickly so I put it here too. Okay this has happened twice for me, but I do not know if it is "supposed" to happen. There have been two instances when I have started recording a show like 10-15 minutes in or a halfway in and then when I go back and check my DVR recordings later, it is the show in its entirety. I live on the East Coast and am using the Motorola Comcast HD DVR. Is this a feature or something? Because I cannot find anything online that supports this occurrence. Does the DVR automatically do this if the show re-airs later on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's because it temporarily records what your watching so that you can rewind and stuff. When you hit record, it includes what it was temporarily recording.

If the STB already is tuned to the station, and you begin a recording, it will add the queue it has stored, going back to the beginning of the show. This can add up to 30 mins of recording that may have built up prior to hitting record.

If the show was already on that channel, it records the previous 15 minutes if it's an HD channel, and about 30 minutes if it's a regular channel. When you hit Record, it automatically saved what it had already been recording.
