Question Onkyo 706 for 806

ok, i have an Onkyo 706 i bought 2 weeks ago.
paid a pretty penny for it 628.88 from brandsmart(before tax)

well before you respond im going to return it & get my money back as i saw an Onkyo 806 for 620 @ amazon
what about an onkyo 805?

my question is are there any over heating issues with the 806/805 or anything i should be worried about?

im pretty happy with the 706 but for the same price i can upgrade(while waiting a week between systems) then i dont mind.

some insight would be appreciated

OR is there another receiver for about 625 or so that would be highly recommended?

I'd get the 806 since it's the same price, actually lesser than what you paid for the 706. I own one (check pics) and I think it's wondeful. So many features for a great price. And with my unit, there is no over heating problems.

As for the 805, good luck finding one if you decide to go that route.

I would recommend the Denon's but if you have a Sony LCD, there will be audio and video dropouts (I tried both the 2309CI and the 2809CI before going back to the 806 (Onkyo finally fixed the problems).

The 805 seems more sought after than the 806, but the 806 is still a good receiver. The 805 has a better power supply and weighs something like 20 pounds more. I think you can expect the 805 to run a good bit hotter than the 806 from what I've read though.

If you can get a 805 then I would try to get one if not the 806 is a killer receiver.I have a 805(see my ht pics) and I love it, I have had no over heating problems at all,Ive never noticed it getting hot or anything out of the ordinary, We use it all the time between games( my wife is addicted to guitar hero and plays it like all day long.)and movies. No problems at all , Strongly recommended.

I have my 805, about 6 months old. I might be buying a Marantz 6003, keep your eye on the trade forum.

You're 805 doesn't get hot??? My gets super hot to the touch, especially in the back right corner.
