Default Blu-ray/HD-DVD Planet Earth Combo GREAT DEAL!

I just got my Planet Earth via UPS from the good old WB direct...and was I surprised when I opened it up! It had both Blu-ray and HD-DVD! Granted there were two discs that were Blu-ray (Disc's 1 and 4) and two that were HD-DVD (Disc's 2 and 3), but hey what a deal!

I would think this error would be on a larger scale sine the two HD-DVD's were put on a blue Blu-ray insert...oh well, now I have to pay to ship this back to get another set...that sucks and seriously cuts into my PE (Planet Earth)time...

DAMN now they have Microsoft or AVS forum members working for Warner Brothers!

Anyone else have these issues?

Take a photo of this and post it up!

Seriously, this is what you get when you're double dating. You get your hand stuck in the cookie jar.

mmm here's an interesting convo resulting from this:

First, Warner puts HD DVD inserts on the Planet Earth Blu-rays
now they're inserting HD DVDs themselves.
Talk about viral marketing
Yes, it's all a conspiracy. That said, I wouldn't expect manufacturing lines to be mixed.
You can understand incorrect DVDs when that happens.
Maybe they're trying to get blueys to get used to THD.
That's a point, maybe they do have a mixed manufacturer line ready for THD.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... You've proved your worth to this organization, Bond.

Sloppy Warner strikes again! That's one way to boost HD DVD sales. I didn't get any HD DVD disc, but I did get a small insert that was for HD DVD.

Zaphod, I think you can argue that return shipping should be free. Maybe they can send you a prepaid mailing label?

I did contact WB earlier today and they did state since this obviously was their "error", that they would reimburse the shipping cost back to them to the credit card used to make the purchase. Whew! I was thinking they would probably screw me over some how by either: 1) not refunding me the return shipping, or 2) refund me but with a credit to use for a future purchase.

It looks like the middle part of the package are the HD-DVD discs on two-sided platters. So either machines or people incorrectly counted the number of platters to be used for the package.

That's incredible. This MUST have been done at a replication/packaging plant that supports both HD DVD and Blu-ray. I wonder how widespread this mixup really is ?
