Default New here..... any help

I found this site while looking up new home theater systems. I am not rich but I have 300-500 to spend for a surround system. I was looking at BEST BUY and CIrcut City and had a few ideas then I fould your site and now very confused

I know nothing about theater systems except what I have seen on this forum. Maybe someone can help me.I do live in a apartment so maybe the Onkyo is too much, is it?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...e_Theater.html

I also would like to get into Blu-Ray and figure this would be perfect with a PS3
any Suggestions.

What is your opinion on these....................

Onkyo TX-SR606 + this:

It will pair nicely with a PS3.

Welcome to the forum!!!
How much privicey do yo have in this apartment? Are the walls solid enough to keep most the music inside or just too thin if you fart you have to say excuse me to your neighbors.

You may need an HTiB if the walls are thin or you can go with an Onkyo 606.

Perfect starter system. I know that vanns.com has the same system its 50 bucks more but they do free shipping and depending on state no tax. That should be the onkyo 606 receiver , either way you'll have a good starter system that can be upgraded later that will pair well with the PS3 . Just one thing make sure you have a decent set a speaker wires. I believe this system should have everything you need minus an extra HDMI .

If you don't plan on gaming, then there are less expensive BD players that you can look at. Panasonic BD35 and Sony 350 are nice entry level players.

I would still recommend the Onkyo 606. You may find it to be perfect versus HTiB systems.

Amazon has some great prices for Onkyo sound systems, in your price range. And, since you're in an apt, just keep the volume to moderate levels, and you should be fine.
