Red face Art for home theater?

I was wondering on suggestions on cool art or paintings that would look good behind a home theater. I remember seeing someone with a crazy painting of comics that had wolverine, batman, etc on it. It was sick.

It all comes down to personal taste. Some really like movie posters in their home theater room while others may like a more homier look.

Personally, since my home theater is also a family room, I do not like a bunch of posters. I plan on adding photographs that I have taken.

If you know what you want, I would do a Google search for what you are looking for. "movie posters," "comic character posters," "modern art," etc.

Also, there is a seller on eBay (bettersigns) who sells those lack signs with equipment names, or DTS, or Dolby written on them.

Good luck!

I prefer no posters etc.... since you don't see them inside the theater when you go out.... just in the lobby.... but if that's your goal, I'd try Stargatecinemas.

i hate those sign with like DTS or Dolby, or blu-ray and crap. Have a little bit of class with your HT. In my opinion, they look cheesy, unprofessional and cheap, true enthusist don't need sign to show off their theaters, they just need to turn the system on =)

Not to start anything but most professional theaters have those signs too.

If you really mean art. He's somewhat pricy but depending on your taste Michael Godard makes some cool ass paintings. I have this in my living room and it seems to go nice with my home theater, I didn't pay that damn much for the record. It's called Nuclear Martini..

I live in Vegas so maybe, because he lives here you can get em cheaper here or maybe you can shop around. And I have the Playboy bunny olives in Hugh Heffner's grotto in the bedroom. It's called Olive Bunnies.

Mainly because it's not a dedicated theater room, I didn't wanna put movie posters. It's my living room and it's the first room you see when you enter my apartment.

I have a couple of those signs, except they are made of wood with a glass front cover and were about 40 dollars each. IMHO they are more attractive than the plastic signs.

Since I don't have a foyer or waiting area (Like a theater), I choose to put up signage and posters in my movie room. But instead of posters, they are all jigsaw puzzles (Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, etc). The wife and I put the puzzles together, glued and framed them and I like the look. I had to cover a double window, so after I blacked it out from the inside, I covered it with a piece of black painted foam board which is attached over the window with velcro. I then cut off the front of old laser disk jackets and placed them over the foamboard.

All of this may look a little busy to some of you, but I like it. I wish I had more space, but I am quite happy with my home theater room. You can click under my avatar and view pictures.

I think those and any movie posters are fine for a dedicated home theater room. But definitely cheesy in a living room.

I believe you are referring to Uberbot's Home Theater. I agree, it does look awesome with his selection of wall art. I believe he is pretty knowledgeable on the subject...his home-theater thread has other people inquiring about the same question.

I saw a guy's gallery who framed his old Laserdiscs. The artwork on the jackets is the main reason why I still have my collection. I really liked that idea and am doing that myself. It's a cool idea for those of you who are still holding on to their old Laserdisc collection (like me).

That sounds like a really good idea. I used some old laserdisc jackets to cover a piece of black foamboard that I used to cover a window. But now I am liking the idea of framing them. A very good idea.... thanks. But then again.. that would mean more work. soooooo... but still an excellent idea.

The less art the better. I have always taken the Zen way when it comes to HT art.
