Default Planet of the Apes

Have learned alot from the postings...

Just wanted to add my opinion that Planet was a thrill to watch in Blu
I had not seen it prior and thought that it might be down there in the misc junk pile..
I loved it.

Planet earth
Goodfellas
Terminator
Total Recall
Stargate

Pioneer 50" FHD-1
Onkyo THX sound

PQ and sound get an 8.
Meaning you know you're getting BD quality value in the flick.

It was "Get off me you damned dirty ape" good! Ok, I'm playin', I didn't see it yet, but I couldn't pass up a good movie quote.

Planet Earth looks great in the areas where they used HD Video. The film stock looks just OK, and the heavily-cropped film stock looks like heavily-cropped film stock, with blah resolution and lots of grain/colored-grain. They had to do that to show close-ups of animals doing certain things.

I found disk 1 to be one of the more impressive, but other disks are a bit more ho-hum.

Well worth the money, though.
