I know this has been asked before, but here goes anyway. I currently have a Denon 2309 and I am going to sell it and get a receiver that has pre-outs so I can get a separate amp someday. I need at least 3 HDMI inputs.
I know I should get separates properly but I don't have the money for a preamp and power amp at the moment and figured I can move this receiver to another room when I can get the pre amp for the seperate power amp that I plan on getting. Which would you get out of these: Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH Onkyo TX-SR806 (heard the power section is not as good as the 805) Yamaha RX-V1800BL (trying to keep it in the $700 range and Amazon has it for $769, if worth it I would do it.) or any other receiver that you would suggest that has pre-outs. |

I would go for the Marantz SR5003 that is within your budget.. or a Denon or Onkyo. check out this deal on the Marantz SR5003 lowest price I could find with free shipping. http://www.ecomelectronics.com/prodi...29&ref=froogle Last edited by Danger Boy; 03-05-2009 at 06:49 AM. |

elites are nice, and so are yamahas, but if you dont like being able to set individual xover settings for each speaker set, then you wont like them. the yamaha 3900 which is expensive, is where being able to do that starts. I had a pioneer elite 91 and was please in the power section, but did not like the xover part of the room correction. I sent it back. I never had a problem with my onkyo 605, I just recently purchased the 876 and enjoying the $hit out of it!
