I've been thinking about getting Ghostbusters 1 on Blu-ray (why isn't Ghostbusters 2 on Blu-ray yet?) and would like to know exactly what kind of special features to expect. I don't have either the Blu-ray or DVD yet as Amazon.co.uk and Hmv.com don't seem to list them on the product pages.
The listing below is from the back of the DVD when I saw it in a shop. I didn't buy either as I wanted to make sure that I was getting the same stuff and possibly more content on Blu-ray. The listing of special features on the DVD is as follows: Video Commentary with Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis Storyboard Split-screen Comparison Still Storyboards - Meet the SFX team SFX Before and After - Ghostly Photo Gallery Behind the Scenes - Featurette and Interviews Concept Drawings Deleted Scenes Theatrical Trailer Also, what is the picture and audio quality like on the Blu-ray? I haven't seen many good reviews about it. Last edited by Billz; 01-31-2010 at 10:19 AM. |

the picture is fine, grainy in places, but that's what to expect from a film from that time, on that stock.
Extras are fairly decent, but it lacks a couple of things from the USr1 DVD, and the BD-Live is underused, as is always the case with Sony. There's a lot more they could have included really. It's worth having. It can often be bought cheap. Tescos have it for £10, and GameStation are doing a load of BDs for under a fiver, including this one. |

Sorry to blow the dust of a year-old topic...
I'm pretty new to BluRay movies (own only about 10 yet) and finally got around to watch the extra's on my Ghostbusters disc. The box says there are 2 exclusive ringtones, but I can't find those anywhere. I guess they need to be downloaded via BD-live, but other than some previews for other movies there's nothing on that. I noticed Live-chat no longer works either, so maybe Sony decided to remove everything from its servers?? I'm using TotalMedia Theatre 3 on my HTPC and not a hardware player, but TMT should support BD-live. Guess the software isn't to blame... Anybody that could help out? ![]() |

Have the deleted scenes from the first film ever been on any UK blu ray release?

If you mean the 10 deleted scenes that run about 8 minutes the yes, they're included on the original blu-ray release and the 30th Anniversary Edition but not on the barebones "Mastered in 4K" disc.
