Any information on Takeshi Kitano's Zatoichi? (Region A or Free) - Blu-ray Forum

Any news/information on this? The UK release apparently has a 50hz menu that cannot be bypassed so that's kind of out of the question. The France release also only has French subtitles.

When are we going to able to enjoy this masterpiece in legit high definition?

I agree. Although I live in Europe, I also have a region A player and the only reason I haven't jumped on the UK Zatoichi release (which is region-free by the way) is the PAL menu. The movie plays fine but you just can't access the main menu (pop menus seem to work though).

Still, I'd rather wait as there are many other movies to buy for now. I'm also hoping for a decent region A release soon.

For fans of Japanese movies, Death Trance is coming out next month. Not as good as Zatoichi but retailing at a low price, it's worth it if you like mindless action.
