Default Digital Camera Recommendations?

I'm looking for recommendations for a digital camera between $100-150. I want it to be able to shoot video as well as stills and have a microphone for the video. Thanks!

Panasonic TZ5. Compact with Leica 28-280mm lens (10x optical zoom) 720p HD video capability. More like $200 but great little camera.

Olympus Stylus 1030SW. Waterproof (you can dive with it) and takes excellent pictures. I've had it for about 6 months and love it!

Default Canon SD770

I just bought a Canon SD770 10.0 MP P&S digital camera recently. I took my gallery pic's with it. It takes sharp pictures and it's easy to use for the casual photographer. You can find it at amazon.com for around your price range.

My sister in law and friend use the TZ5. It is a great, amazingly compact camera.

Check dpreview.com too. They did a bunch of P&S shootouts in different price categories.

Sub $150 tests

'Premium' Compact

Definitely go for the IS series from Canon...probably the best point and shoot digital camera on the market now.

Are you thinking SLR? F type as in F-mount? That would only be Nikon. $500 would get you a D60, which is a good camera but will not use the older Nikon lenses since it is lacking an in body focus motor. It also only has 3 AF points.

If you are open to other mounts check out the Sony A200 or A300 with live view. The Canon XTi and XSi are also good cameras, but I lean toward the Sonys. Dpreview.com and PopPhoto.com are great sources of reviews. They also really like the new Olympud 420 and Pentax K2000.
