Default Removing marker from electronic equipment

My 2 year old found a permanent marker and went crazy in our living room for a couple of minutes before we heard him. Thank God he did not get the tv screen, but he did get permanent marker on the plastic border at the bottom of the tv that runs around the screen. Does anyone know of any way to remove this? I can sand all of the wooden furniture he got, but I'm not sure what to do about this. It is black on black, so it is really hard to see anyway, but I'd rather have it removed.

Holy cow.

Start with very weak solvents, then work your way up.

I'm assuming you tried water already and that didn't work.

Someone told me dry erase markers remove permanent ones. Just try coloring over the permanent marker with a dry erase one, then wipe it off.
