Default One Of A Kind Films

These movie favorites are totally fresh to the viewers eyes. After watching these films/or during viewings you realize that you have never seen anything like it before. They are groundbreaking for a moment, or possibly for years to come.
The movie could be an older film or new, tell your experiences below.

Are those really one of a kind? Memento's the only one of those that didn't have a sequel or trilogy... Matrix was great, but did remind me of Dark City.

Memento is on my list along with: A Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a Dream, Eraserhead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spider.

i am sure I could think of more if I was at home looking at my dvds.

I gotta say The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. The perspective of the entire movie is unbelievably engaging. It is seeing through the eye of a man who is a prisoner of his own body. The movie is unlike anything I had ever seen before and a great movie.

Great picks master8ball! Love them all. Toy Story was one of a kind for a moment I believe...plus peoples picks come with a personal opinion clause

Good choices, I forgot about Spider, so much better then A Beautiful Mind.

Others if I am not choosing just one:

Naked Lunch
Happiness
Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story
Vernon, Florida
Freaks
Ken Park (though I don't really like it, it was one of a kind)

When Toy Story first came out...it was like nothing else..There weren't all of these animated/cgi movies.

And I had to put pirates there because it had some great ideas in it..so many things were going on at the same time.

"Following" was a film that used many of the same "effects" (for lack of a better word) as Memento to tell the story..... same director

They really don't need to be. Most of them are the ones you see and see alot of other movies after it doing somewhat of the same thing.

Superman was pretty groundbreaking
look how many comic book movies have followed it after its success
and it is still one of the better ones
