I'd like to see WB finally do this film justice for home viewing. The last DVD was not widescreen enhanced so I think this one deserves the full BD treatment.

I'm resuscitating this thread so everyone can clamor for this classic to get a much deserved blu release.

Unfortunately the great George Stevens movie Giant is going to be a problematic transfer to Blu-Ray at best. The remaining film elements are in very poor state. It will take a labor of love to resurrect this important movie to high definition standards. With the new software developed by Fox to create the brilliant The Sound of Music transfer they accomplished, who knows? Modern miracles do happen. If we keep on buying Blu-Ray catalogue releases major studios will take notice and be prepared to invest in the necessary film restoration to save these films for future generations and Blu-Ray is our greatest chance to help out. Let's hope it's not too late for Giant.
