It's about time. This is on the waiting list along with Worst Case Scenario and The Poughkeepsie Tapes.

I'll believe it when I see it. It was supposed to come out in theatres in Oct. 2007 then WB got scared of Saw IV. Same thing happened in Oct. 2008 and then they said maybe April 2009 theatrically (which didn't happen seeing as we're here and it would have been a stupid move). So now it's going straight to DVD and Blu this Oct. 2009? I for one would be thrilled. This is the film I've been anticipating the most in years; the last time I was this excited about a movie was in the summer of 1999 for Star Wars: Episode I (and what a disappointment that was). With what I've heard/read so far, Trick R Treat is shaping up to be a masterpiece of the caliber of Carpenter's Halloween. Still, until I see an official WB announcement, pre-orders open and a listing with cover art on Amazon, I won't believe it.
