Default Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood: Live from Madison Square Garden (6/2/2009)

This could be something special. I haven't seen this concert, which was filmed in February 2008. But after watching Dave and Tim together at Radio City Hall on Blu, I think there is plenty of potential for any duo, let alone these two legends. My dad is a huge fan of Clapton and Winwood, and I'm thinking this will be our family's first day-one Blu-ray concert purchase. Hopefully, it gets a nice treatment.

Oh yeah, my Dad will pick this one up no problem. He's already got The Police, Dave and Tim and Elton.

I'm looking forward to this as well. I'll admit, I'm kinda getting bored with E.C. in the last few years. He seems rather lifeless and perfunctory in his playing nowadays. My main reason for this purchase is Steve Winwood, as it's been years since I've seen anything live by him. I hope that together they can make this a standout performance, it sure would be nice.

I will definately pick this up!

I didn't have the $75-150 to see Eric Clapton in person so this will be a nice substitute.

Any details on this release yet? Audio format? Reviews? I'm really interested in this title, but would like to hear about it first.

I must have this...... hopefully it follows suit with most of the music releases, and drops in price quickly.

Long time fan of both, haven't seen Clapton live since he did a benefit with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page back in the early 80s. Steve Winwood's last two albums were very good. Will be getting this one as well.

Here is a review of the DVD. Obviously, it doesn't mention anything about the BD audio format, but the author raves about the chemistry between Clapton and Winwood.

So, the review is in. Thanks Ken. I read in an Amazon.com customer's review that there was no 5.1 lossless track. Oh well. I'm still getting it. I guess if there is one type of genre on Blu-ray that can get away with just PCM stereo, it's a concert.

Just bought it tonight. I paid probably the most I have ever paid for a blu besides the Sweeney Todd Steelbook but i am loving it. I like Clapton alot but i must say Winwood makes the blu worth the money.

well thats a bit of a disappointment especially considering that the DTS 5.1 is supposed to be a pretty good mix, why would they not include a lossless version?

Of course this will not keep me from getting it but I will wait for the price to drop a little.
