It would be great to have THX certified BLU-RAY discs one day. The costs of the discs would be more expensive but one is guaranteed in theory a certain level of quality for picture and sound quality. I am all for THX certified BLU-RAY discs.

Lionsgate's "T2" was actually the first THX certified BD (HD format) disc anyway. "HiDef Digest" gets it wrong again. |

When THX started loaning out their name for PC speakers they lost all credibility. Who cares anyways? It's all marketing.

No, when THX appears on a Bose product, THEN they'll have lost all credibility
![]() As long as they pass the same tests as everyone else, and I seriously doubt there's enough money in certification for it to be worth it to them to sell out, what's the wrong with them certifiying products as the best possible in their class? |

Warner is distributing New Line in the US, so yes they're neutral.
I think the THX on the european (must be the german release) Pan's Labyrinth is just vor marketing... |

I could care less about THX. I've seen plenty of movies that were not "THX approved" that looked fantastic, and others that were THX approved that looked just O.K. I believe they even once shipped some discs (early in the DVD era) that were defective. I can't remember the movie. Anyway, that's great if they want to put their collective stamp of approval on a movie, but it hardly makes me sit up and reconsider my purchase.
