Default My Kuro KRP-600M - hung and beautiful

My KRP-600M arrived the other day. I hung it last night and, man, this thing is amazing.

It feels like we are sitting in a movie theatre. No...it's BETTER than a movie theatre. The 7.1 channel with the asswhomping sub makes watching movies at home an experience.

This TV is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. I'm watching the matrix and seeing details I've never seen (and this is the 10th time I've watched the movie).

I see colors and so many things that were never there. Subtle details that make this movie amazingly immersive. It does not have the "looking through a window" look...but a movie theatre look....which is what I want. The most important thing is that there is no blur on motion unlike LCDs.

The picture is - so - real. As I'm listening to the sound I'm just floored with all the details like the crackling of electricity, the sounds of footsteps or other background noises that I don't recall ever hearing.

This forum convinced me to go plasma and, man, am I glad I did.

I'm hanging my 500m tomorrow. It will be done with break-in tonight.
Are you watching in Pure mode? Using D-nice's settings?

I was wondering where did you get your monitor from? Did you get it from Amazon.com because I'm trying to get one as well or maybe should I go with the 141 fd.

What's your opinion on the KRP 600 vs 141 fd. I was also looking for a new receiver, would recommend the Denon or a Pioneer?

Monitor Outlet for the TV.

According to D-Nice at the AVSForums, this TV PQ is nearly identical to the Elite. It is a MONITOR which means it doesn't have a tuner, some outlets, a stand mount and a few other things. Which for most people, isn't a problem since their cable box or w/e does the channel changing.

Amazon's pricing for these monitors doesn't appear to be competitive unless they've changed it in the last few weeks.

For a receiver...there may be some marginal benefit to going to Pioneer as I think the TV works with it...same with the BD player. The Denon is a fine fine receiver, but it is NOT user friendly. I am pretty technical and this thing was a pain to setup, not to mention the manual requires a phD in physics to read and understand. The Pioneer, and other brands, may be a bit more plug and play/user friendly.

Unless you're a hardcore technical type, I'd go with Pioneer/Onkyo/etc I paid $500 for my receiver and it seems to have all the capabilities and quality I need.

I don't understand by what u mean about the hardcore technical type, I was looking into get either the 2309, but the 2809 and 3808 look like something of a nice receiver.

On the television side I'm thinking of a Pioneer Pro-151. I really value your opinion because you have a sweet, sweet, sweet system. I don't want to copy, but that system is sweet.

I dont see it...all I see are the PRO-141FD, PRO-101FD, PRO-151FD, PRO-111FD and the 5020-6020s. Did you have to call them up for the pricing? I'm thinkin of sending this bit of info to my bro who is up in NYC.

I don't see them on the Pioneer online dealer list. Are they legit and will your warranty be honored?

Hardcore technical type....means that you have the ability to work electronics and understand them intuitively. You have no problems reading technical manuals that come with these and enjoy figuring out all the advanced features, what options you have to use and are really enjoy equipment with capabilities that the average user doesn't understand or appreciate.

The Denon units you mentioned are extremely nice. However, from MY point of view, I look at what they are going to cost me and the value that I get for that cost. The more expensive units have features that I am not sophisticated enough to appreciate, or I do not have hardware (speakers) or media needs that would really use higher end equipment. In summary, $1K + for a receiver/bd player is a waste (for me). The TV, however, is not as I have compared the Kuro picture quality side by side with Panasonic 58" plasma, 55 & 65" high end LCDs, etc and feel it is worth the extra cost.

Buyers remorse sucks when you're dealing in thousands of dollars.

Good luck!
