Sorry, the Indy movies are Paramount properties, so we will just have to wait until somebody wakes up and discovers the war is already over.

I believe the very last line of Paramounts press release was:

Except films by Steven Spielberg.
Interesting to see exactly what the contract covers and what it doesn't.

Paramount properties but not subject to HD-DVD exclusivity, as they have previously announced.

The Topps' news release mentions a tie-in with the release of the new Indy film in summer but mentions nothing about HDM releases for the first three.

Actually they are both. Produced by Lucasfilms, Directed by Speilberg & then released by Paramount.

In other words, who knows? They could fall under Lucasfilms(more than likely) or they could be under Speilbergs control. Either way they are definitely a Paramount release so that could be the real sticking point.

While Paramount holds the distribution rights of the Indy film, two men will impede its release on HD-DVD: Steven Spielberg, which Paramount need a green light before his films can be released (he directed/is directing all four); and George Lucas, who owns Lucasfilms that owns the movies.

But for DVD, it should be okay.

Universal studios had to apologize to Mr. Spielberg twice last year just for insinuating that some of their movies that he directed would be coming out on hd dvd in the near future.

Yeah, this one will be tough to answer. Of course you will see these in Hi Def long before the Star Wars films. Yes, its true that Spielberg directed all the films and Paramounts clause says that Spielberg is not of the HD DVD contract. Yes, Lucas has a tendancy to wait for the format wars to be over before ever releasing his material.

I guess we will have to sit and wait this one out. I doubt if the guy who started this thread has any proof. Plus there are many others here who have contacts in higher levels for true info.

If there were any information out there more compelling than the Topps sell sheet, we'd probably have heard about it already. I suppose Paramount could announce the titles soon...

Personally, I assumed none of the Indy movies would hit HDM until Christmas 2008 when Crystal Skull should be available for the home market.

If they are indeed not covered under the Exclusive contract we could see them much sooner.

Why?
Becasue they will be loosing revenue hand over foot not selling HD-DVD.

I wonder if Shia Lebouf is the new Short Round.
If they try to make him out to be a tough guy I might just walk out of the theater before it ends.
I can only suspend disbelief to a certain extent.
