I only buy movies online....also Sony has no control over what these stores charge extra for...

I just started buying movies online in february when i purchased my PS3....I have only purchased 2 movies from local stores because they were 24.00 or less..Layer Cake and I think devil's rejects...I forget...

I used to get all of my blu rays at BB as well, until I discovered this forum and then amazon.com. You can really find some great deals!

I did notice that in the last month that the BB in my area is charging about $10 more for blu rays than they were recently.

I'd investigate ordering movies online...

I refuse to buy BD's from BB. They are SO overpriced! I shop at fry's for BD's. they are very close to comparison to internet stores. They give a very good price for a B&M store! Too bad they aren't nationwide!

Kick Best Buy to the curb. If you have a Fry's near you, shop there. Otherwise, use Amazon. Best Buy's robbing you and they're not even using a gun.

Shopping Brick and Mortar is just spending extra money for the 'convienance'.

Which, given that my apartment office is usually closed by the time I'm done at work, is worth it .

Hey KC Chiefs I just returned from best buy and I bought GR for 29.99 and also got a free "graphic novel" that is exclusive to BB.

The sticker price said it was 34.99 but there was a stand with with GR DVDs and Blu-rays and it said that the GR blu-ray is 29.99. Its also listed online as 29.99 so you should go back and tell them that(if you can).

Also I went to buy FLags of Our Fathers last week at BB and the sticker price was $34.99 while the internet price was $29.99 I let them know this and they gave it to me for the online price. I only really go to BB because I have a reward zone card and I want to earn "rewards."

Circuit City actually has a policy that if you find it advertised cheaper(you have to bring in the sales ad), they will match the price and also give you a 10% discount. I think the policy applies to online stores as well (it excludes wholesales like Costco and Sam's).

Out of my 28 or so BRDs, I've only payed over 20 bucks once, and that was 23 dollars of Amazon gift cardage.

Sears takes it another step further than CC..

they usually have a computer where they will look up a local retailer to see what they have that item for and they match it..plus 10% the difference...

this works great for TV's...even movies as they over-price everything...

too bad they won't let you use amazon.com

Actually CC does do that too, they have done it for me on a couple of occasions you jsut have to ask. And actually BB price matches too but I'm not sure if they match online prices. If you don't have the sales ad they will check the computer as well.

Ask them for a refund. That is crazy.

I just bought it a my local BB and it was CAD$32.95 (~$29.95) and came with the free 125 page book "Ghost Rider - The Visual Guide" that BB is giving away with the deluxe DVD.

I strictly use Amazon since I got prime. Don't forget, a 29.99 bestbuy BD still end up costing around 33 bucks. (taxes)

i have found Amazon to almost always be cheaper than my local stores. In the few times they werent cheaper, the "No tax" and "Free shipping" made up for it.

Yup, I love Amazon Prime!

How do you get "No tax"? I always have to pay tax on my purchase at least it appears that way.

Amazon does not have presence in my state (Texas), so I don't have to pay sales tax.

Cool

I didn't want to wait for the mail, so I tried Wal-Mart...as much as I hate to go in there. I got GR for 24.99 and Primeval for 25.00, which from what I read is cheaper than BB or CC, although, I've never tried the Price match thing. I will be in the future though, thanks for the tips!
