Cyron Lighting

I love these lights and want to get them for my set up but im wondering if they will work since im on a 55 inch sony reAr projection..any ideas?

Just depends on placement, hell I'm using IKEA ones on a 50" Kuro - but I prefer only putting them on the sides, not the top. Get at least 20" worth for each side.

Remember they're not for movie-watching, just for show or for music.

After a long debate I got the IKEA lights which are smaller then the Cyron ones and I'm using it on a 50" plasma. They work great and I love them though. Cyron's were just too expensive to me when I could get 8 IKEA ones for $100.

Interesting thing in the article - says is some professional viewing rooms, the screen is actually centered a little below eye level.

There is far less eye fatigue looking slightly down instead of up. I was in retail A/V sales many moons ago and remember a Sony rep pointing that out. Trying sitting in a chair, look up above the horizon where some people mount their flat screen TV's. Hold your eyes on that spot for as little as a minute. Now lower your eyes to even or better yet slightly below the horizon. Notice the difference. There are far fewer muscles required to look straight ahead or down than up above your horizontal eye level.

I am always amused at people that put flat screen displays up over a fireplace or the equivalent height.

I personally would NEVER mount any display below the horizon level.

But each to their own.

Just got the Cyron kit in the mail yesterday and am about to set them up this afternoon on my new Elite 151.

WOW!! I jut picked up some lights similar to the ones in the article and it really makes a difference and thats in the day time (with the shades pulled over) Can't wait to see what they look like at night.

They ARE NOT just for show they enhance movie watching as long as they are the right whitish blue color. Not blue blue or red, those are for display, but the way they are in the article...wow!!

A must buy for everyone.

I have a 67" Samsung RPTV and they work with it just fine... Although I do wish i had 3 across the top instead of 2

Location, location, location is the old saying. They will surely work for any set-up, it just depends on how you want the light to disperse and the brightness of the lights themselves. I have them and highly recommend them as a nice added feature to my HT viewing!

I've got a 55" Sammy and I have them on the top,bottom and sides. Love em couldn't live without them.
